I was wondering this too and my dad came up with either using a wire coat hanger or freezing the hand onto a plate ( the latez usually stretches over a small saucer)... my idea was to melt a knife through the hand to rest on each side of the bowl... in the end i went for making an ice hand with green food colouring and just to have the green spooky hands floating in the orange punch.

Mrs. Chump, I'm sure she read it but the point is, ice floats, so how do you get the hand to STAND UP in the punch?
